pygmy goat life span?

Does anyone know the average lifespan of a pygmy goat?

I had triplet pygmy goats for many many years. Two of them died last year and the last of the 3, Opie (bless his heart) passed away on Wednesday. I'm thinking he was about 14...he was an adult goat when I rescued him so I'm not for sure of his exact age.

Just curious if anyone knows?????????

10 to 12 is a good age for a large sized goat, 14 is good for any goat! I need to double check with a friend of mine who raises minis but Iam thinking anywhere between 10 years and 15 is really good. Of course breeding plays a huge part in it as well.

I have heard from 10-15 years, my gf has one and shes about 6 and she was wondering too.
I asked some of the people who own goats at the Fryeburg Fair in Maine and that was my answer. I sorry for your loss...

Lifespan of Pygmy Goats

We have raised goats for 33 years. For the last 20 years we have had pygmy goats. Treated well, not overfed, given their shots, lots of clean water and fresh, healthy food, our goats have lived to 15 years. My oldest one is now 15, but she is starting to fail. We raised her by bottle feeding her with her mother's milk so she would have an attachment to us--and she thinks I'm her mother! So I'd say they max out at about 15, and anything over 10 or 12 means you are doing something right!
